2020 Event Update

2020 London Triathlon – Postponed to 2021

To our London Triathlon community,

We can confirm today that the 2020 London Triathlon has been postponed to 2021. We have been regularly monitoring the Covid-19 situation and liaising with the relevant London authorities and listening to participant feedback regarding your inability to prepare as you would like for the event. Based on the continuation of the lockdown measures and the ongoing nature of the pandemic, we do not feel it would be appropriate to proceed with the event at this time. We understand that this will be very disappointing, if not unexpected news.

Your entry will be automatically deferred to next year’s event when we hope that you will join us for what will be a very special edition of the London Triathlon.

Due to the scale and complexity of organising such a large central London event, particularly at this time, sourcing an alternative date in 2020 is not feasible. Therefore, our energies are now focused on making the 2021 London Triathlon the greatest ever.

The London Triathlon traditionally takes place on the last weekend of July or the first weekend of August. We are working with the local authorities and stakeholders to confirm the new date for 2021. We anticipate that the new date will be confirmed by late summer/early Autumn. We will update you with that date as soon as we have confirmation.

Your ongoing support for the London Tri is greatly appreciated during these difficult times and we look forward to welcoming you to the start line in 2021. To read our FAQ’s, please see below.

  • We have automatically deferred everyone’s entry into the 2021 event, for free.
  • All your subsidiary purchases will automatically transfer over too. So, if you bought: an iTab, or a Premium Place etc… It will be transferred to 2021 for you.
  • You DON’T need to take any other action.

If, for whatever reason, you already know that you are unable to make a summer 2021 date then please contact our Customer Service Team: info@londontriathlon.co.uk. As we expect to be busier than usual dealing with incoming queries, please allow up to 5 working days for a response.

Thank you once again for your support,

The London Triathlon Team

Here at Limelight Sports, the event organisers behind London Triathlon, we are committed to delivering world-class, premium events every year. As an SME, event cancellations have significant financial implications due to the marketing, planning and staff costs that have already been accumulated up to the point of cancellation. It would help the event, and indeed our wider business if you were able to defer your entry to next year; or choose one of our other options. However, if you are not in a position to do this, we will process a refund of your entry fee to you – please write back to confirm your final preference to: info@londontriathlon.co.uk

As we expect to be busier than usual dealing with incoming queries, please allow up to 5 working days for your response.
